Born and raised in northeast Iowa.  Married a southern from Knoxville, so as the saying goes, "I wasn't born in Tennessee, but I got here as fast as I could!"  My husband and I have been married 35 years.  We have two, adult, and 'make you proud' children; both are teachers!  We are also proud grandparents of a grandson and granddaughter. We have lived in 5 states:  Iowa, Tennessee, Utah, Michigan, Ohio, and back to Tennessee.  I began my teaching career in Iowa and have now joyfully returned to teaching in the BEST school, SCES!!  I love life, my family, teaching, and the beauty of east's culture, people, and landscape.

P.S. Your kids may know me as the "Pirate Teacher".  I earned that alias by living on a houseboat at Norris Dam Marina for 3 years.  The pirate theme is alot of fun in 3rd grade!
